Small and versatile December 11, 2015

This is the third one I have purchased in the last year.  Two I installed on my boat- one in the bow and one in the center console.  Now I have all the power I need for my accessories and it so neat and professional.  The third I added to my 5th wheel RV directly from the "house" batteries so that I would not be blamed for any warranty problems that could arise at a later date.  Of course I installed a 50 amp breaker and battery switch before the unit.  The unit now provides power for my portable sewage macerator pump and two 12 volt sockets I added.  I still have room for 3 more devices.  Be careful with sizing the wire.  DC power requires much larger wire and length of run is important.  I recommend downloading wire sizing tables from the internet before proceeding.

I added multiple electronics, lights, 12 volt convenience receptacle and a horn to my 16' center console and this is the only way I would recommend energizing the additions.  Each addition has it's own circuit and the negative bus bar makes it so convenient and orderly.  I wired it directly from the battery with #10's and mounted it under the console.  It takes up little or no space.  The blade fuses are simple to replace and you have the option of choosing the amperage unlike the mini breaker switch panels that are sold.  These mini 12 volt panels use the same principles as the electric panels in homes.  Wish the lower end boat manufactures had a more orderly way of wiring boats like this.  They have more jumpers and piggy back connections under the console which adds to the clutter of the wad of wiring with it.

Nice solution for hooking up electronics cleanly and without the need for in-line fuses.
