CHIRP no better than HDI, slow processor October 8, 2015
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from CO
I bought this based on Lowrance’s reputation and friends’ units.  It seems like this unit needs several bugs to be fixed.
My unit loses the bottom depth at many speeds including trolling speeds.  The tech support at Lowrance says it is turbulence from my prop, but the depth appearance or loss is not a function of the speed or prop RPMs, so I think it is a problem with the unit.  Plus, I don’t see cavitation or other evidence of turbulence around the transducer.

If you read all of Lowrance’s information, you’ll find that you need a class 6 or lower micro SD card to upload software or data to the unit.  This confirms that the processor in the unit is slow and probably the reason it loses bottom depth.

I don’t find Lowrance’s tech support to be very helpful.  My experience is they try to blame my installation.

I do agree with others about the user manual not being very well written.  I find it inadequate for my needs.
