Marine Networking

If you are looking to integrate your radar, software, and GPS unit on a PC or a network of PCs, you can use the InSight Radar 2 (IR2) to bring together the world's best navigation software with the familiarity of traditional radar to create the ultimate navigation system. IR2 offers unparalleled chart plotting and radar abilities providing higher resolution and greater confidence.

IR2 surpasses traditional radar systems through its use of the award-winning VNS 11 and Admiral 11. These navigation programs make the IR2 easy-to-use, affordable to update and provide functionality not found on other radars. What's more, InSight Radar 2 models can be connected to a vessel-wide network, providing all of your nav stations with radar and chart plotting data for true redundancy.

How Nobeltec radars work
Digital Radars are unique because they send radar output directly to a personal computer without the need for additional displays. Bringing the PC and radar together is normally no small task. With IR2 Radar Solutions, Nobeltec makes it easy for you.
The radar image is received by the radar transceiver and converted into a digital picture which is sent to the computer and displayed on Nobeltec Navigation Software. Heading and GPS information are sent to the computer using a standard NMEA interface.

Minimum system requirements
 
Nobeltec offers several different radar models. Select a radar from the list below for specific radar information.
 
Minimum System Requirements* - higher system requirements may be appropriate if multiple advanced features are used concurrently:
  • Microsoft® Windows® 7, Vista™, XP Home/Professional (latest Service Pack may be required for Technical Support troubleshooting)
  • CPU: 1 GHz (Dual Core/ Dual Processor is supported)
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Hard Drive Space: 500 MB for NNS programs, plus 20 GB for charts and supplemental data
  • Display: 1024x768 resolution, 32-bit color video
  • Video Card: 64 MB RAM
  • DVD Drive
  • Serial or USB Input Ports for any directly connected instruments, such as GPS, Radar, etc.
  • USB port: At least one USB port (for Hardware Key)
  • Mouse or other pointing device
Recommended System Requirements
  • CPU: 2 GHz
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM (more if multiple features are used concurrently)
  • Video Card: 256 MB RAM and OpenGL for each monitor
  • Internet access for registration and to purchase software add-ons and charts
Radar warranty information

 
For US customers, Nobeltec and its manufacturers offer a limited two-year warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on labor for all Nobeltec IR2 hardware. All other customers are provided a two-year limited warranty on parts that are delivered to Nobeltec's hardware manufacturer.
