I purchased this winch for the bow of my 18.5' bass boat. Installation was easy, and I am very pleased with this product. I was very impressed with your low price for this winch - it was the lowest I could find on the internet, and shipping was prompt. Thank you for a very pleasant buying experience.

I installed this device on the bow of my Bass Tracker boat. It fit reasonably well in the limited space available. I was able to use an existing power source. I also mounted the unit's control on the bow. The device works well and I have not had any problems. Backlash when lowering the anchor could become an issue if your not paying attention. The product is reasonably priced. I would recommend this product.

both of the deck mates operat satisfactorly in both up and down operations. however, there are two drawbacks that have been experienced:
1. the rope diameter allows it to get between the reel and housing
2. the reel does not stop releasing the anchor after it hits bottom as my bother-in-law's electric anchors do (another brand) which allows an over-run which sets up comment #1

I ordered 2 of these winches for my 22 foot pontoon. Before using I was worried because the directions said nothing about having any kind of a clutch which they don't.But they work smooth enough that you have plenty of time to let off the switch, which you have to install near the winch so you can watch the anchor raise up to the boat. It's better than throwing a 20lb anchor off the side. For the price the do the job,of a basic winch and if you got a boat as big as mine get 2 one for the front and one for the back. Also easy instalation

After several years of manual anchor dropping and pulling, this is truly an awesome unit! We installed it ourselves and it was easy to mount and connect. Ordering direct surely made it a lot more affordable. Thanks!
