The initial set I received impressed me greatly when I first opened the package. But no matter what I did, it seemed there was a bit of a cross-eyed effect when looking through them. Checking this with several others who are familiar with binocs, they all agreed, and a Navy Opticalman suggested it was an issue with collimation.
Upon calling the Promariner factory service, I was given an RA number. A week and $10 shipping later, I had a great set of binocs in my hands. Took them out to fields where I could easily range 1/2 to 5 miles in distance, and was impressed with the clarity and light for a cloudy day. Up close, I can focus well enough in the maples out back to count the hairs on squirrels.
I got them as a great average set to have with me boating. They missed this year's trip. I'll find out how well they work for that next year I guess. Wish the first set I received had been this good. So far, very impressive for the price point!
