Very pleased withthis unit January 26, 2012

I have had this unit installed for 2 years with great performance. It is a good value, probably not equaled for the price. The system is on a remote floating cabin where"shore power" is a portable generator which is used in periods of high 120vac and 12vdc loads that can not be resupplied via the roof top solar electric system. The remote on/off switch has been a great convenience for us since the unit is installed on our less used second level with the 400AH  AGM battery  bank. A more sophisticated remote display to be used in conjunction with this on/off function would be a great improvement.

Improved Charger/Inverter January 24, 2012
Reviewer: Dave from Cruising Mexico
I have had 2 other Xantrex Freedom Inverters.  They were the 458 style.  1 Got seawater on it and the other was struck by lightning.  The SW2000 so far seems to work much better as far as the 3 stage charging goes.  It has 2 cooling fans vs. 1 on the 458.  The case is also better designed to prevent water from coming in around the edges.  The Inverter control panel is a little cheezy and unfortunately Xantrex doesn't feel it is necessary to make their product with compatible interfaces, such as the Link.  The price is good for what you get but is basically a disposable unit if something happens to it.

Inverter review February 25, 2011
Reviewer: GP from Maryland
So far the Sw2000 had worked well. It charges the AGM batteries in a proper fashion. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that the fans run all the time when plugged into shore power due to the battery charger keeping a float charge going. No way to turn them off. You can stop the power going to the inverter to stop the fans but then the pass thru of the 120 volt shore power does not happen. Xantrex said there is no work around that they know of. Only way around it to me is extra 120 volt plugs not wired to the inverter. I am still not sorry I got this one. Just wish there was a switch to turn off the charger when the batteries are full. From what I read the older Prosine model had a switch.
