Works as designed. Poor instructions. June 12, 2017
Reviewer: Leslie from Virginia
Been using the radar mount for a month. Does very good job keeping radar level. I wish Scanstrut supplied extra rivets in the package. And their instructions are poor. Just pictures. Nothing supplied to support the wire that runs down the mast. Had to invent something.

Mount needs an adapter if mast has a track May 8, 2017
Reviewer: Leslie Newman from Doswell, VA United States
I will add one more note regarding the installation. My mast has a front track. The LMM-1 mount as delivered does not fit a mast with a track. I had to purchase Scanstrut 50100 Mast Mount Adapter Kit which was another $115 + shipping.  And this kit does not come with any rivets. It is just 4 pieces of U shaped aluminum and some bolts.  You use everything else that comes with the LMM-1 plus this kit.

Some feedback after installing the mount May 8, 2017
Reviewer: Leslie Newman from Doswell, Virginia
1. The mounting plate holes did not line up with the holes in the Garmin radar. I had to use my drill and enlarge the holes enough that the four studs would easily slip through the mounting plate and screw in.
2. The mount is supplied with 12 rivets. For what they charge for the mount a few extra rivets would be nice.
3. I had a little trouble with the bolt that secures the hanging bracket to the mount. I had to leave off one washer or I would never have gotten the cotter pin through the nut and bolt.
4. Note that you cannot screw the studs into the Garmin radar before you have slid the radar onto the mounting plate. The curve of the mount prevents this. I installed the mount up the mast, then wrapped slings around my radar so I could then haul it up. Then balancing the radar got the cables connected. Then slid it around and installed the mounting studs and nuts.

The radar is mounted and looks good. The mount does pivot as advertised. Time will tell how it holds up.

Great mount with very poor documentation May 1, 2017
Reviewer: Leslie Newman from Doswell, VA United States
The mount looks very well made. The installation instructions are just pictures, no text. And in black and white. If you view the instructions online you will note a RED circle that marks the indent on the bottom of the mount. In the black and white that doesn't stand out and I think someone might miss this fact. Also, previous reviewer mentioned missing rivets. I think the safety wire is meant to NOT break away if the sail gets tangled in the radar (mount is meant to break away), so I think they mean for you to use something stronger like screws to secure the wire so radar doesn't come crashing to the deck. But again, no written instructions. Supplied grommet won't slip over radar connectors. Giving it a GOOD rating due to poor instructions.

Works Great. Easy to Install. Only small problem - missing 2 rivets to install the tether.
