An Interphase unit purchased in 1993 finally died. They no longer make units priced under $2000 so I bought Lowrance that did not work- sent it back and received a replacement. After 2 months everything worked great-- except the depth reading. At 16 months the transducer was junk. Finally threw it overboard and bought the Garmin Echo 200. In saltwater it functions as it should. Extremely pleased from the shallow backwaters to 15 miles offshore.

This was my first fishfinder so I was pretty much going off of everyones reviews. It works great, I used it in the river and the depth alarm was really helpful. The only thing I wish it came with was the little wheel so I would know my speed. I has the plug for it so I assume you have to buy it seperate. For the money though its a great fishfinder.
